Governor of Kano State, Kabir Abba Yusuf, has confirmed that he has no discussion about with President Ahmed Tinubu during his visit to the Villa earlier in the week.
Shedding light on the issues discussed during the meeting in Abuja, Yusuf, who currently battles agitations over an alleged plan to dump the ruling NNPP for the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the discussion did not focus on politics.
Sunusi Nature, the governor’s media adviser, had explained that the visit focused on seeking presidential support and cooperation to accelerate federal projects and ensure Kano State derives maximum benefits from federal programmes and investments.
“He sought the president’s support and cooperation to fast-track federal projects and ensure Kano benefits maximally from federal programmes and investments. He informed President Tinubu about the recent tragic killing of a housewife and her children, stressing the need for decisive federal support to strengthen security operations and protect innocent citizens.
“The governor and Mr. President discussed issues relating to security and safety. The governor informed Mr. President about the many roles of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps in complementing security agencies and called for deeper collaboration with federal security institutions.
Governor Yusuf also discussed Kano’s development agenda, with special focus on mega infrastructure projects,” he said.
He also explained that Governor Yusuf appreciated the federal government’s intervention on the Wujuwuju road. According to him, the project is a key factor in unlocking economic growth and creating employment opportunities in Kano State.
Speaking further, he explained that Tinubu assured the governor of the federal government’s commitment to partnering with Kano State to address insecurity and promote sustainable development.
