Eba Island is part of Ijebuland, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. All the major communities surrounding it, including Ode-Omi, Makun-Omi, Ibu, Irokun, etc., are Ijebu-speaking and also adopt the Ijebu monarchical model. They acknowledge the Awujale as their paramount ruler.

Evidently, all these communities were gazetted during the Western Region as the Ijebu Waterside District Council, with the Lenuwa of Ode-Omi at the top of the list.

Prior to this time, the Awujale was accountable for the stipends given to the major communities therein. Eba is Ijebuland; therefore, it belongs to Ogun Waterside LGA and Ogun State.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
