Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the families of soldiers who lost their lives in service to the nation.
Speaking during the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day parade and wreath-laying ceremony at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Abiodun emphasized that the sacrifices of fallen heroes and the contributions of war veterans must never be forgotten.
Represented at the event by his deputy, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the governor described the peace and unity enjoyed across the country as a direct result of the patriotism and dedication of Nigeria’s military personnel.
“The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a solemn occasion to honour our heroes. Despite the security challenges facing our nation, we must continue to celebrate their bravery and selfless service,” Abiodun said.
He further commended the Nigerian Army for their professionalism, discipline, and commitment, stating, “Your sacrifices underpin the peace and stability we enjoy in Ogun State and nationwide. We do not take your service for granted.”
Governor Abiodun also prayed for the repose of fallen soldiers and assured that his administration would persist in prioritizing the welfare of the families they left behind, reaffirming Ogun State’s enduring support for veterans.
