The Police in Ogun State has arrested one suspect in connection with the death of popular youthful singer, Adesina Afeez, widely known as Destiny Boy.
The command said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for detailed investigation.
In a statement made available to Cityscenes, Police spokesperson in the State, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said investigation has begun concerning the death of the singer.
Babaseyi added that one person has been arrested in connection with the death of the singer.
“Ogun State Police Command has since commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation.
One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing,” Babaseyi stated.
Meanwhile, contrary to claims that the young musician died at the shrine of an herbalist as a result of poisoning, his relatives have explained that he died after battling a long-term illness from his childhood.
According to the late musician’s mother, Saidat, “he suffered from “Ogun Oru,” which causes epilepsy-like seizures usually at midnighr .
She explained that the family had sought both medical and traditional help over the years all to no avail, adding that he nearly ran mad due to the sickness.
