Carpenter father thanks Students, others
Mr. Jide Oladipupo Nathaniel, father of Opeyemi Oladipupo, a recent graduate of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, who spent nine day with kidnappers, has confirmed that she has been freed and receiving treatment.
According to the elated father, when contacted directly by Cityscenes, he is currently in Abuja with Opeyemi. “She is now being attended to medically. I thank God that she is alive. I thank Nigerians for the care, especially MAPOLY students and staff,” he said
According to a statement released by the Head of the Mass Communication department of MAPOLY, Dr. Wasiu TejuosoOpeyemi, became free from her abductors on Friday night.
“I am happy to announce that the kidnapped graduate of our department, Miss Opeyemi Oladipupo, was released last night after nine days in captivity,” Tejuoso said..
A 2025 graduate of the Mass Communication Department in MAPOLY, Opeyemi was kidnapped along with other travellers on Wednesday, a fortnight ago, throwing students, lecturers, and members of the public into panic.
The kidnappers demanded a ₦30 million ransom. With her furniture maker father unable to provide such an amount, a fundraiser was commenced by students and other well wishers.
